I’m loving The Comiq by Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi. The way he drew the faces turned me off a bit at the beginning but I was won over by the great backgrounds with nice inking and of course the story. It’s a classic who dun it?! murder mystery and I’m sucked into the story already. I only pray that VIZ media doesn’t drop it from the North American digital edition.
In real life, as well as this story, prison inmates are made to draw manga backgrounds to acclimate into society. Up-and-coming mangaka Ryota Sakamaki is hard at work on a new series, advised by his sister Mihana and taunted by the super-popular mangaka Seiya Himekawa.
Ryota’s work begins to reveal unsettling parallels to a murder that took place years earlier—and he learns Baba, the supposed murderer in the case, is drawing his backgrounds. Convinced Baba is innocent based on the drawings, Ryota sets out to prove it with the power of manga.
Dr. Stone and The Promised Neverland are still going strong with the stories hitting some suspenseful potential climaxes at the same time. Who will die and who will survive are still in question as both series leave you hanging at chapters end.
The Promised Neverland is slated for an anime and I would bet Dr. Stone will have one eventually.
I’ve noticed a lot of hype on ASMR videos on YouTube and mentioned on the local radio station. ASMR are sounds like just feel good. Like a tingling from the top of your head down your spine or just a relaxing feeling that could make you want to drift off to sleep.
YouTube’s MadSeasonShow is my ASMR. Not only does he make great World of Warcraft content videos his voice is just wonderfully dead pan. He even jokes about the mono tone in this video.
I like his channel. He’s not pretentious, informative and seems like the dude I would want as a guildie.
I’m pretty hyped about this announcement of Warcraft 3 Reforged. I have the original version on my desktop now but the new smexy graphics will make me open my wallet again. Now if only EA would give the first Dragon Age some make over magic!

I was playing Gwent in beta. Quite a lot of it actually. I had worked hard for cards and even spent real money in game when they had a promotion. I stupidly thought that at least some of those cards would be saved. Logging back in since the new release was a real eye opener. The game looks quite different, I really thought it would look somewhat like the beta but boy was I wrong. The game went from three rows to two! I can’t understand why? Three rows was fine by me. So of course so many card mechanics changed for this.
I’m not giving up on Gwent and will grind again with this newer version but bugger if I had known it would have changed this much I would have skipped the beta and just learned on the two row board. And damn do I miss my cards….Birna Bran is completely different. From putting down a sea storm on an opponents row (which looked great graphically) it now just draws 2 and discards two.
Phillipa….where are you????? Why can’t I find your old card? I’m afraid to see what else is missing or changed.
I hope this new version will keep my interest piqued. I did prefer it to Hearthstone but alas only time will tell.
I’m just going to list my top 5.
Tied for first and second is Goblin Slayer and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Both are fantasy but very different in style. GS is dark fantasy with lots of good old violence compared to the whimsical world of Slime. To keep things short GS brings back the feels of Beserk. If you loved Beserk you should love GS. pic “Goblin Slayer meets Berserk” by tsundere-power
Slime so far feels like a cute Nintendo or Level 5 game made into an anime. The lead character is murdered in a brutal crime and gets reincarnated in a fantasy world as a slime and then begins to gain knowledge and become powerful. Slime has a neat take on goblins and magical beasts like this “Tempest Wolf” by RhythmPopFox
3rd – Golden Kamuy is equal parts freaky deaky, adventure with some campy humor. It’s rare to find a show with so much badassness from every character. You may hate the bad guy going after protagonist Sugimoto and Asirpa but you still admire how badass they are. Adventure, a mystery to solve and some crazy characters make this a blast. Photo:
4th – Jo Jo’s Bizarre Adventure – Golden Wind. This could have rated a bit higher and the reason is that I read the manga and know what is going to happen so the suspense factor is diminished unlike the above three. I enjoy recommending Jo Jo to Gen X’ers looking to step into anime. I use the music angle to entice them.
5th – Gurazeni: Money Pitch. I’m always down for a sports anime especially one in a sport I have little knowledge on. Money Pitch feels like a warm dessert. The lead character Bonda is a left handed relief pitcher obsessed with the salaries of the other players. It give a fascinating twist on the psychological aspect of his playing and the business side of the game. Bonda is just a super nice guy and I root for him to get that money.
